May Saturday Workshops 

May 16th 1-3pm EST 

  • Focus: The history and importance of written advocacy
  • Topic: Should standardized testing be cancelled forever?

May 30th 1-3pm EST 

  • Focus: The history and importance of spoken advocacy
  • Topic: What should school look like in fall 2020?
Time Breakdown: 
1-1:15 intro and icebreakers
1:15-1:45 written/spoken advocacy
1:45-2:15 topic discussion
2:15-2:45 task force activity
2:45-3 debrief and wrap up

Cost: $30/workshop, $50 for both, free for students enrolled for at least 2 weeks of camp. Financial aid available. 

July Saturday Conferences

July 11th, 18th, and 25th, and August 1st

11am-3pm EST

Student leaders will get together to enact scenarios involving non-profit, government and private sectors to discuss solutions to societal problems. Students will come up with a joint plan to solve the issue through cooperation and debate. Students will gain essential skills to become effective leaders in society.  Students will also gain important practical experience in business, NGO, and government sectors while they figure out how to drive real-world change.

Time Breakdown: 
11-12 intro to conference and vote on topic
12-1 work on topic
1-1:30 lunch
1:30-2:30 preparation
2:30-3 presentations

Cost: $50/conference, free for students who attend the week of camp leading up to the conference. Financial aid available.
